July 26, 2009: Watch Mr. Crypto Video!

During the summer months of 2007 over 1,900 people in the state of Utah became infected with the parasite, Cryptosporidium, or “Crypto” for short.  These numbers nabbed for the state of Utah the dubious distinction of having “hosted” one of the largest community-wide outbreaks of cryptosporidiosis in US history.

In response, the Salt Lake Valley Health Department has launched “Keep It Clean – No Crypto” a public health awareness campaign which includes an informative webpage  http://www.slvhealth.org/crypto/index.html and an entertaining video featuring Mr. Crypto, who we have dubbed “Mr. Dingleberry” (just watch and you will get the subtle message.)
